Model Overview
The 10'2 Performance Glider combines the paddle power, effortless glide and sweeping lines of a traditional glider with the responsiveness needed for more progressive surfing.
Its extended rail line allows the board to enter waves early, build momentum and carry speed through long sections. Despite its length, it is designed to feel lively underfoot - equally at home flowing through drawn-out turns, trimming from the centre or being pushed in competition.
A beautiful balance of glide and performance, this is a board for surfers who want to cover more of the wave without losing the ability to surf with purpose.
Stevie’s Notes
The original was a hand shape called the Mamath,created specially for Crystal during her pregnancy so she could compete at the South African Longboard Championships while seven months pregnant.
The idea was to create a board with exceptional paddle power and early wave entry, while still allowing her to surf with performance. It needed to carry speed, move smoothly through manoeuvres and remain easy to control despite its length.
Since then, the design has become a real favourite. It carries incredible speed in and out of turns, responds well when surfed from the tail and is also a surprisingly good nose rider.
At 10'2", it paddles into waves brilliantly and builds momentum with very little effort. You can draw long, clean lines, move forward into trim, nose ride through the section and then step back to redirect the board.
It has the glide of a traditional longboard or log, but it can still be surfed with purpose and performance. What began as a very personal hand shape has now become one of the most requested boards in the range.
